Presentation of the Ushakov Medal to Russian Arctic Convoy Veterans

Mrs Janet Bowen, Lord-Lieutenant of Ross and Cromarty, Skye and Lochalsh was present at the Town Hall in Inverness on the occasion of the presentation of the Ushakov medal to members of the Russian Arctic Convoy Veterans by Andrey Ptritsepov, the Russian Consul General to Scotland.

The presentation was made prior to Remembrance Sunday so that the Veterans could wear their medals on parade. Those receiving medals in Inverness were: Reay Clarke, David Craig, Robert Fraser (deceased - Liam Clark), John Grigor, Lawrence Knowles, Alexander (Sandy) Manson, Cecil Miller, Robert Muirhead, William Ross (deceased - Donald Matheson) and William Shand

The medals are in honour of the convoys which supplied Russia in her hour of need in the Second World War.
