On Tuesday 20 June, Mrs Janet Bowen, Lord-Lieutenant for Ross and Cromarty, attended the opening of the a small memorial garden in Maryburgh beside the Amenity Hall, to remember the fallen.

The garden was formally opened by Lt Col Andy Mackay, a son of the village who left age 16 and who has progressed through the rank; he retires next week.

A number of volunteers had created the garden supported by financial contributions from the Dingwall and Beauly branches of the Royal British Legion.
