MacKintosh 60th Wedding Anniversary

MacKintosh 60th Wedding Anniversary

- 29/03/16

OnTuesday 22 March Mrs Janet Bowen, Lord-Lieutenant of Ross and Cromarty, Skye and Lochalsh attended the celebrations in Conon Bridge to mark the 60th Wedding Anniversary of Billie and Annie MacKintosh.

The couple first met in 1953 when Annie, who was originally from Poolewe, attended a dance in Garve Village Hall where Billy and his brothers were performing as the Billy MacKintosh Dance Band.

During the evening Billy asked Annie to keep him a seat on the bus home, and she said she would if he would play his signature tune China Doll.

He did, and the rest is history!
