The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service

An MBE for a Community Organisation?

The Queens Award for Voluntary Service aims to locate and recognise exceptional work carried out by any voluntary organisation working in the community. Any voluntary organisation is eligible to be nominated, although a significant track record will be required if the application is to be successful.

During 2010 Mrs Bowen, the Lord Lieutenant for Ross and Cromarty, incorporating Skye and Lochalsh, was able to present a Queen's Award for Voluntary Service to Sleat, and would be delighted if there were more nominations from her area.

How do I nominate an organisation

The procedure is broadly similar to that for an individual, and the Lieutenancy would be glad to work with any member of the public in any nomination process. In the first place please contact the Clerk to the lieutenancy via the link on the left hand side of the screen.
