An invitation has gone out to the younger generation of current and former members of the Armed Forces to take part in celebrations in Ross-shire, marking their service to the country.

Armed Forces Day will be recognised in Dingwall with a raising of a flag on Monday June 21, and a parade and march past on Saturday June 26.

A Help the Heroes March Past and Parade will be held in Tain on Saturday June 19.

Lord-Lieutenant for Ross and Cromarty, Skye and Lochalsh, Janet Bowen, is appealing for current or recent ex-members of the Armed Forces to attend the local celebrations and take part in the march past and parade. They could also be presented with a Veterans Badge.

Anyone willing to take part in the events or to organise a similar celebration in their area is asked to contact Mrs Bowen via June Forsyth, Council Offices, High Street, Dingwall IV15 9QN. email: ku.vog.dnalhgih|htysrof.enuj#ku.vog.dnalhgih|htysrof.enuj, phone 01349 868500 or via the contact form here.
